Established in 1987, CAT College, formerly known as Computer Arts and Technology School, was founded by Mr. Reynaldo A. Belleza to meet the technological education needs of the Bicol Region. Starting with only 20 students in two rented classrooms, the institution has grown into a prestigious higher education provider, responding dynamically to evolving educational needs with diverse and relevant course offerings.
Originally launched with courses in Computer Secretarial and Computer Technician fields, CAT College expanded its campus in Legazpi City and acquired Southern Luzon Technical School (SOLZTECH) in 1989. This enabled the new offering of a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. SOLZTECH later merged with CAT College, further broadening educational programs and outreach.
Today, housed in its own 5-storey building, CAT College is equipped with state-of-the-art computer and multimedia facilities. The institution boasts a highly qualified faculty team drawn from various professional sectors, enhancing educational delivery by integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
Affiliated with numerous professional and educational associations such as PAPTI, PSITE, and PRISAA, CAT College is committed to providing affordable, quality education that prepares students to be productive members of society. Through continuous improvement and relevant collaborations, the school upholds its dedication to youth development and national progress.
The school is committed to producing morally upright graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills essential to their dynamic responses to the challenges facing the country and the world.
The school envisions a globally competitive and excellent education and training as well as world-class professional services that meet the demands of modern technology. In effect, the school visualizes the attainment of basic values like the alleviation of poverty, employment for all, universal access to education and the full participation in the process of our country’s development through technology and computerization.
